Asian Development Bank (ADB)

The Asian Development Fund (ADF) bridges the development gap in Asia and the Pacific, home to both the world’s fast-rising and most vulnerable economies. ADF is a major instrument of concessional financing that has supported equitable and sustainable development in the region since 1973. Funded by ADB's member countries, it offers loans at very low interest rates as well as grants to help reduce poverty in ADB's poorest member countries.

Sustaining our Coast: The Ridge-To-Reef Approach, a Compilation of Technical and Policy Paper

This compilation was accomplished through the Integrated Coastal Resource Management Project (ICRMP), a foreign-assisted project. These studies attempt to pursue policy reforms and advocate strategy towards the protection and sustainable management of coastal and marine resource. The compilation includes the following:

This report presents the major accomplishments of PFDPIN in its nine years of imlementation from 1984 to 1993. It includes the experiences derived from the project as well as its socio-economic and environmental impacts.

Project Performance Audit Report on the Forestry Development Project in the Philippines

The purpose of the Project was to establish large-scale, commercial timber plantations that will protect the environment and improve the living conditions of local residents. The Project intended to
(i.) protect the watersheds of the Banban and Vintar rivers in the province of Ilocos Nort by restoring its forest cover;
(ii.) establish tree plantations for timber, fuelwood and pulpwood production, and constriction roads to serve reforestation activities as well as the needs of local residents; and

Agusan River Basin Integrated Water Resources Management Project: Final Report

BACKGROUND

The Master Plan for the Agusan River Basin Project TA (TA 4552-PHI) was carried out from August 2005 to July 2006. The draft final reports were extensively reviewed and revised, and the master plan was developed into an “enhanced master plan”, with the last version of the final report submitted in May 2008.

Third Davao del Norte Irrigation Project

The Third Davao del Norte Irrigation Project is the second of the two irrigation projects formulated under the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-financed technical assistance for Second Mindanao Irrigation Study. Under the ADB loan package, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) is the lead implementing agency with the Department of Health, the Department of Public Works and Highways, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources through the Forest Management Bureau as the other executing agencies.

Cordillera Highland Agricultural Resource Management Project

The Cordillera Highland Agricultural Resource Management (CHARM) Project was a successor to the Highland Agricultural Development Project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The Project’s main activities were aimed at benefiting the communities as whole rather than selected individuals, which implied that the Project was to target only the communities that had poverty incidence of over 90%.

Allah Valley Watershed Development Project (AVWDP)

The Allah Valley Watershed Development Project, a component agency of the National Irrigation Administration-Allah River Irrigation Project (NIA-ARIP) embraces a total area of 102,350 hectares located within the municipality of Lake Sebu, Surallah and T’boli in the province of South Cotabato and the municipality of Bagumbayan in the province of Sultan Kudarat. The Project objective was to rehabilitate the critical watershed area so as to enhance the viability of the irrigation project.
