This report, CHANGE (Capacity EnHANcement for the Global Environment), is the abridged version of the full NCSA document. It briefly describes the NCSA process in the Philippines, the capacity needs to meet the country's obligations to UNCBD, UNCCD, and UNFCCC, and the action agenda to address these capacity needs. This report hopes to stimulate awareness among a wider range of stakeholders and motivate actions among decision makers from various sectors to sustain the global environment though capacity enhancement.

Peñablanca Protected Landscape and Seascape Management Plan : Strengthening Climate Change Resilience through Improved Watershed and Coastal Resources Management in Protected Areas

 
Peñablanca Protected Landscape and Seascape (PPLS) became a protected area through Presidential Proclamation No. 484 issued on October 6, 2003.  It was an expansion from the original Peñablanca Protected Landscape (PPL), which covered 4,136 hectares. The PPLS currently has 103,801 hectares of land and 14, 980 hectares of water.  Eighteen barangays comprise the PPLS.

Agusan River Basin Integrated Water Resources Management Project: Final Report

BACKGROUND

The Master Plan for the Agusan River Basin Project TA (TA 4552-PHI) was carried out from August 2005 to July 2006. The draft final reports were extensively reviewed and revised, and the master plan was developed into an “enhanced master plan”, with the last version of the final report submitted in May 2008.

ASEAN Regional Centre for Biodiversity Conservation

The ASEAN Regional Center for Biodiversity Conservation (ARCBC) was a joint cooperation project between the European Union (EU) and the Government of the Philippines on behalf of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The overall Project goal was to intensify biodiversity conservation through improved cooperation in a comprehensive regional context, by assisting in setting up a network of institutional links among ASEAN countries and between ASEAN and EU partner institutions. The Project pioneered in addressing regional concerns on biodiversity conservation issues.

Pilot Ecosystem Account for Southern Palawan

 

This final report presents the collective findings of the Technical Working Group for Southern Palawan ecosystem accounting, a pilot undertaking conducted between January 1, 2014 and December 10, 2015 in the island province. 

The Southern Palawan ecosystem account explores potential pathways to developing specific accounts based on a comprehensive framework called the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting-Experimental Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA-EEA), which shows the interactions between the economy and ecosystems, consistent with the System of National Accounts.

Philippines' Wealth Creation Programme from Biodiversity Resources: Economic Valuation Component

 
This study provides initial estimates of the foregone and/or potential monetary benefits from genetic resources that have commercial potential specifically to :

  1. Assess the forgone monetary benefits of bio-pirated species in the country;
  2. List genetic researches in advance stage with commercialization potential;
  3. Assess the potential monetary benefits of these genetic reseachs with commercialization potential;
  4. Know the posibble interventions needed for a fair and equiale bnefit sharing scheme and protocol.

Regional Resource Management Project : ENR-SECAL, End-of-Project Impact Assessment Final Repor

This document is a report that assessed the degree of achievements of Regional Resource Management Project - Environment and Natural Resources Setoral Adjustment Loan Program (RRMP, ENR-SECAL) in 14 project sites. The extent of which are relevent and sustainable beyond the project term and gleaned lessons that might be useful for policy making process and in the planning and development of furture projects of the same nature.
