DENR-CLASP: Annual Accomplishment Report

The Community Livelihood Assistance Special Program (CLASP) is a response of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to poverty reduction and wealth creation in the Philippines. It specifically supports the call for the creation of 10 million jobs and development of two million hectares of agribusiness / agroforestry lands.

Cordillera Highland Agricultural Resource Management Project

The Cordillera Highland Agricultural Resource Management (CHARM) Project was a successor to the Highland Agricultural Development Project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The Project’s main activities were aimed at benefiting the communities as whole rather than selected individuals, which implied that the Project was to target only the communities that had poverty incidence of over 90%.

Saving the Philippine Environment

TWELVE MONTHS are not enough to reverse the serious damage on the Philippine environment brought by several decades of neglect, apathy and misplaced priorities in the management of our natural resources.
But for the present administration of the Departnment of Natural Resources, one year was enough to set off a series of bold, judicious and high impact moves to end the vicious cycle of environmental degradation and establish the most extensive protection mechanisms for forestry, biodiversity and the environment.
