Climate change adaptation -- Philippines

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) Environment Policy Committee (EPOC) and Development Assistance Committee (DAC) formulated the Policy Guidance on Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Develop­ment Cooperation (OECD Guidance). Its framework aims to create a better understan­ding of climate change. It seeks to promote practical means of integrating climate adaptation into development undertakings at national, sectoral, project and local levels.

This guidebook demonstrates how community-based adaptation (CBA) can be integrated into mitigation activities, such as reduced emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+) projects, by incorporating such methods as vulnerability analysis, participatory research and cost–benefit analysis. The use of multiple methods makes it possible not only to link scales but also to integrate adaptation priorities into REDD+ projects.
