Moving Forward in the Implementation of the Non-Legally Binding Instrument on all types of Forests in Liberia, Nicaragua and the Philippines: A Contribution to Reducing Deforestation and Forest Degradation

In May 2007, the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) adopted the Non-legally Binding Instrument on All Types of Forests, also known as the "Forest Instrument". 'This significant international consensus was reached to boost the implementation of sustainable forest management (SFM) and thus to maintain and enhance the economic, social and environmental values of all types of forests for the benefit of present and future generation.

This report will present and discuss the progress and achievements of the project during the first phase and is limited only to the results it has identified. The plus and minus chart was applied to present what the Project perceived as its strengths or weaknesses in each activity. Major decisions made and unresolved issues are also presented for discussion, that recommendations be made to modify operational strategies and implementation policies during the second project phase.

Project Completion Report of Integrated Forest Protection Pilot Project-A, Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya

This project was the first major government project to address the problems of the watershed of the multi-purpose dams of the country. The project started in July 1981 and ended in 1988. This report highlights the accomplishments of the projects as well as the recommendations.

Program Performance Audit Report on the Fisheries Sector Program in the Philippines

This report contains the Program's effective establishment of a policy framework for the regulation of fishing effort within sustainable limits. It also reported the Program's success in laying down institutional foundation for fisheries resources management; addressing urgent sector needs, such as coastal resource rehabilitation and poverty reduction; and initiating various income diversification activities that provided supplementary income to marginal fisherfolk.

Project Completion Report: Debt-for-Nature Swap Initiative Program-Quirino

The Debt-for-Nature Swap Initiative Program was a three (3) year Community Based Forest Management Program (CBFMP) that was implemented in ten (10) barangays in the Municipalities of Maddela, Nagtipunan, Aglipay and Diffun in the province of Quirino. The Program started as a CBFM for biodiversity conservation but later reformulated to focus more on reforestation and agroforestry activities.

Project Completion Report IFAD 397 - PH Cordillera Highland Agricultural Resource Management Project (CHARMP): Reforestation Subcomponent

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), through the CAR regional and field offices, was primarily tasked to implement the Reforestation Subcomponent of the project in coordination with the Executing Agency (DA) and the other implementing agencies. The Reforestation Subcomponent aimed at developing a total of 6,150 hectares through reforestation, enrichment planting and agro-forestry.

Department of Environment and Natural Resources Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) PHI: Integrated Persistent Organic Pollutants Management Project (IPOPs Project) Project Completion Report

The Integrated Persistent Organic Pollutants (IPOPs) Management Project is a six-year project of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) under the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB). The DENR-EMB is the implementing Government Agency of the IPOPs Project with funding support coming from the Global Environment Facility-World Bank (GEF-WB). The project was approved on 28 June 2010 with a GEF grant amount of US$8.64 million. It became effective on 24 June 2011 and ended on 30 September 2017.

Terminal Evaluation Report of the Fifth Operational Phase of the GEF- Small Grants Programme in the Philippines (GEF Project ID 66837; PIMS-4517)

This Terminal Evaluation (TE) Report for The Fifth Operational Phase of the GEF-Small Grants Programme in the Philippines is intended to assess the achievement of project resutls and to draw lessons that can both improve the sustainability of the benefits from this project to Philippiines and for UNDP's future programmes especially to SGP GEF initiatives. This TE is also intended to "promote accountability for the achievement of GEF objectives; including the global environmental benefits."
