This study is a result of our partnership with the GIZ under the project Responsible Land Governance in Mindanao (RLGM). Though limited to three regions, it still provides an insight on the various co-management arrangements, and partially devolved functions that the national and local governments have on the ground. It also gives us an overview of the roles of the DENR and the LGU in key agreements, especially with the management of watersheds, caves, and forestlands.

To aid the land use planning and development processes, the use of GIS technologies to come up with base maps, thematic maps, proposed land use maps, zoning maps, among many others, was tapped by the national government agencies (NGAs) and local government units (LGUs) to aid them in managing the land resources within their jurisdictions. This Knowledge Product is developed to raise awareness on the application of technology, such as GIS, data collection tools and remote sensing (UAV mapping) to better communicate the concept and applications of land management to various audiences.

The illegal wildlife trade is one of the most lucrative transnational crimes in the world. Numerous wildlife are threatened with extinction due to overexploitation for food, medicine, and as pets. Although it is difficult to quantify the illegal wildlife trade due to its mostly clandestine nature, analyzing seizure data can indicate its magnitude. Wildlife seizure records from the DENR, PCSDS, and other sources for the period 2010–2019 were collated and analyzed to identify species threatened by the illegal wildlife trade, hotspots, and trafficking

The WildALERT taxonomic database currently contains 480 taxa including the most commonly- and occasionally-traded wildlife in the Philippines.

This strategy paper on policy advocacy aims to provide an over-all framework and approach to achieve the abovementioned objectives in the LAM reform agenda. It specifically focuses on presenting an integrated, wholistic and coordinated legislative advocacy strategy for the four key bills on LAM reform within the existing limitations and contingencies of the policy development and legislative-making process.
