Philippine Wealth Accounting and the Valuation of Ecosystem Services (Phil-WAVES)

PHILWAVES intends to inform development planning and policy analysis on the sustainable use of key natural resources. It aims to determine the mineral wealth of the Philippines, how these will benefit the citizenry equitably; value the Philippine mangroves and its impact; study the different development options of the Laguna Lake basin; and analyze different development options for Southern Palawan which is one of the few largely untouched ecosystems in the Philippines.

Phil-WAVES : Philippine Wealth Accounting and Valuation of Ecosystem Services Project - Project Completion Report

This Project Completion Report (PCR) is a document prepared to assess the performance and effectiveness in the implementation of the Philippine Wealth Accounting and Valuation of Ecosystem Services (Phil-WAVES) Project completed through the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA).

Pilot Ecosystem Account for Southern Palawan

 

This final report presents the collective findings of the Technical Working Group for Southern Palawan ecosystem accounting, a pilot undertaking conducted between January 1, 2014 and December 10, 2015 in the island province. 

The Southern Palawan ecosystem account explores potential pathways to developing specific accounts based on a comprehensive framework called the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting-Experimental Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA-EEA), which shows the interactions between the economy and ecosystems, consistent with the System of National Accounts.

Ang Pilipinas ay sumasailalim sa pagkukuwenta o pagtutuos ng mga serbisyo at benipisyong naidudulot ng ating likas na yaman sa Katimugan ng Palawan bilang isa sa walong mga kaanib na bansa na nagpapatupad ng World Bank's WAVES (Wealth Accounting and the Valuation of Ecosystem Services).

 

Ang pagbuo at pagpapalaganap ng "ecosystem account" para sa Katimugang Palawan ay isang gawaing binubuo ng iba't ibang ahensya ng gobyerno. Ito ay pinapangunahan ng pambansa at panlalawigang tanggapan ng Kagawarang ng Kapaligiran at Likas na Yaman (DENR), kasama ng Palawan Council for

Laguna Lake Ecosystem Accounts

Bilang isa sa mga bansang kaanib sa World Bank's WAVES (Wealth Accounting and the Valuation of Ecosystem Services), ang Laguna de Bay ay sumasailalim sa pagkukuwenta o pagtutuos ng mga serbisyo at benipisyong naidudulot ng ating likas na yaman o tinaguriang  "ecosystem accounting" sa Laguna de Bay. 

 

Ang pagbuo at pagpapalaganap ng "ecosystem account" para sa Laguna de Bay pinapangunahan ng Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) kaakibat ang iba't ibang ahensya ng gobyerno sa pakikipagtulungan sa mga internasyonal at lokal na eksperto.

Laguna Lake Ecosystem Accounts

As one of the eight country partners in the World Bank's WAVES (Wealth Accounting and the Valuation of Ecosystem Services) global partnership, the Philippines is constructing ecosystem accounts for Laguna de Bay.

 

With support from international and national experts, the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) undertook the development and analysis of these accounts that will aid in the better resource management and development planning of the Laguna de Bay.
