The implementation of the Community Forest Project Quirino (CFPQ) was a joint undertaking of the German Financial and Technical Assistance, represented by KfW and GTZ, and the Government of the Philippines, represented by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) as the project holder. The goal of CFPQ was to contribute to the sustainable use of forest resources in the Philippines.
The project worked at the local level in 15 barangays of five municipalities in Quirino province, based on the concept of community-based forest management (CBFM), in cooperation with DENR and local government units (LGUs), the project supported people's organizations (POs) in measures towards sustainable forest management, agriculture and infrastructure development, establishment of financial intermediaries.
