The Philippine Climate Change Adaptation project (PhilCCAP) is a pilot climate adaptation project funded by Global Environment Facility (GEF) and World Bank (WB) that enables targeted communities to adapt to the potential impacts of climate variability and change through development of existing institutional frameworks for climate change adaptation, and demonstration of cost-effective adaptation strategies in agriculture and natural resources management.
The project aims to increased communities’ adaptive capacity by improving farm management capability under conditions of climate risk; creating access to information on weather forecasting, climate pattern, and risk management options; and strengthening ecosystems for the primary beneficiaries which include poor farmers who suffer climate-related losses and vulnerable groups that depend on natural resources for their livelihoods.
It also aims to develop and demonstrate approaches that would enable targeted communities to adapt to the potential impacts of climate variability and change.
