ASEAN Regional Centre for Biodiversity Conservation
The ASEAN Regional Center for Biodiversity Conservation (ARCBC) was a joint cooperation project between the European Union (EU) and the Government of the Philippines on behalf of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The overall Project goal was to intensify biodiversity conservation through improved cooperation in a comprehensive regional context, by assisting in setting up a network of institutional links among ASEAN countries and between ASEAN and EU partner institutions. The Project pioneered in addressing regional concerns on biodiversity conservation issues. It provided the venue for exchange of ideas and sharing of experiences on biodiversity issues. ARCBC established the bridge that fostered stronger collaboration between EU and ASEAN institutions. In the biodiversity conservation circle, ARCBC became a known focal point and key player in both the Region and Global arena.
