Pasig EcoPledge Platform

The Ambitious City Promises (ACP) Project aims to contribute to greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation targets through mitigation plans and activities, which is referred to by the Project as “City Promise.” One of the key accomplishments of the ACP Project is the establishment of a platform for proposing and collecting pledges for the development of the City Promise. As the project’s model city in the Philippines, the City of Pasig launched the Pasig EcoPledge Platform (www.pasigEcoPledge.org), which is an online platform that aims to inform and advocate for climate action among the constituents of Pasig City in the areas of energy, transport, and waste. Through the platform, Pasigueños pledge their individual climate actions, opting for a more sustainable lifestyle in line with the climate targets of Pasig, and further demonstrating their ownership and commitment to the City Promise of Pasig. Additionally, the platform translates the City Promise into citizens’ commitments, including a GHG calculator to visualize the collected pledge and induce further citizen engagement. The pledged actions solicited from the platform served as basis in developing Pasig City’s climate action plan, and were incorporated in the Promise of Pasig: Low Emission Development Strategies (LEDS) 2020-2030, which outlines the city’s climate target of GHG emissions reduction by 20% below its 2017 baseline emissions by 2030. The Promise of Pasig was approved and is being adopted through the issuance of Executive Order No. 50, s. 2021.
