PO Accreditation System

The Integrated Natural Resources and Environmental Management Project (INREMP) has developed its Technical Bulletin 2018-03: “Implementation of the Accreditation of People’s Organizations (POs) and Indigenous People’s Organizations (IPOs) Engaged in INREMP” with the end objective of securing its long-term targets to natural resources management (NRM) through continued partnership with good performing POs. The PO Accreditation encourages POs to continuously improve their management systems by following the set of Principles and Criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council.

The Accreditation System also includes an enhancement of INREMP’s subproject financing release scheme to facilitate the payments to POs and subsequently improve the project disbursement. The revised financing scheme aims to reduce the number of releases, increase the amounts of initial releases, and institute better accountability of POs and IPOs.
