Subproject Completion Report of Sapangbato Watershed Rehabilitation Subproject

The Sapangbato Watershed Rehabilitation Subproject of the Forestry Sector Project is one of the many reforestation projects of the government that adopt the concept of Community-based Forest Management Program (CBFMP). Its implementation played several key roles in the socio-economic development and environmental protection of the locality, which includes production of water for irrigation of prime agricultural land for crop production, maintenance of a protection forest, and provision of livelihood opportunities for Indigenous People and upland dwellers.

With the continuous assistance from the DENR, the Assisting Professional, and other government agencies, several technical assistances through training/seminars were given to the PO to prepare and further capacitate them to perform a more challenging role of being “manager” of the 2,176.00 hectares forestland by virtue of the issued Community-based Forest Management Agreement (CBFMA).
