Sustainable Forest Management, Poverty Alleviation and Food Security in the Upland Communities in the Philippines: Revised Master Plan for Forestry Development

Based on a proposal from the Forest Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations formed a team to undertake a project to review and revise the 1990 Master Plan. The new outlook for the revised Master plan embodies considerations for a combination of outlooks for land use, productivity, demand, supply, human resource, policy, and institutional changes. The over-all planning framework or strategy was anchored on the watershed and ecosystem management approach as the over-arching principle in forest resource management.
