The NSOC is a pioneer report on Philippine Ocean Economy, being the first among state-of-marine-environment literature to contribute a comprehensive insight on the topic. Notably, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), a collaborator for the creation of the NSOC Report, went an extra mile by assisting in the development of coastal and marine satellite accounts (which is beyond the usual Gross Domestic Product measurement work of the PSA).

The established Central Material Recovery Facility (CMRF) uses a low-maintenance diesel-powered machine with liquid-removing compactor and conveyor-powered loading system designed for low-cost operation, only requiring minimal electric power. Having reduced the volume of landfill garbage by almost 80% through the use of this machine, the facility helps prolong the life span of controlled dumpsites.
The Tingloy: Batalan Grill (Floating) Restaurant established under the biodiversity-friendly enterprise initiative of the SMARTS PH Project practices proper waste. The community-based/owned BDFE established a partnership with Pure Ocean, a private entity that now purchases the restaurant’s accumulated plastic waste. Food waste and other biodegradable waste, on the other hand, are made into fertilizer.
The Integrated Natural Resources and Environmental Management Project (INREMP) has developed its Technical Bulletin 2018-03: “Implementation of the Accreditation of People’s Organizations (POs) and Indigenous People’s Organizations (IPOs) Engaged in INREMP†with the end objective of securing its long-term targets to natural resources management (NRM) through continued partnership with good performing POs. The PO Accreditation encourages POs to continuously improve their management systems by following the set of Principles and Criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council.
The Contract Management Information System (CMIS) being pilot-tested in INREMP and FMP selected sites is a useful instrument in monitoring the progress of contract on development interventions. The CMIS is an online platform established to streamline the process and improve the retrieval and submission of reports, thereby promoting transparency and accountability in the utilization of project resources.
